The Governor of Punjab Sardar Latif Khan Khosa on Wednesday has urged the Supreme Court of Pakistan to take suo motu notice of violent protests in Punjab over power loadshedding, because angry protestors were damaging public properties.
Addressing the first CSR Business Excellence Awards 2012, organised by the National Forum for Environment and Health here on Wednesday, he said that if suo motu notice can be taken over misbehaviour by an MPA of Sindh with the polling staff, such notice should also be taken over violent protests.
When a reporter drew his attention that an MPA of PML-N led the protestors during protest on Tuesday during which Lesco office was destroyed by angry mob, the governor said. 'Such an act is violation of article 62 and 63 of the Constitution.' He also slated the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for his remarks against the government on the issue of loadshedding.
