All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association (APOTOA) Khyber Pukhtun-khwa has warned that if government will not increase transportation fares after surging prices of petroleum products, they would suspend fuel supply to the entire province. Talking to reporters here at Peshawar Press Club on Monday, the Provincial President of APOTOA, Nasir Ali Khan said that they couldn't afford huge expenditure under the previous transportation fares due to soaring prices of petroleum products.
Therefore, he demanded of the government to increase transportation fares within any further delay. He said that drivers and tanker owners had declined to supply oil supply because of low transportation fares and wages. The unprecedented hike in petroleum commodities had adversely affected daily wagers and poor people, he observed and added that the prices of essential daily use items gradually increased. "We are demanding to increase transportation fares for the last several weeks, but government didn't paid attention in this regard, he regretted.
