Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has said that enemies of religion and peace have no respect for humanity and they don't deserve to be called human beings and Muslims. Addressing a cheque distribution ceremony among the heirs of the martyred and injured of terror incidents in Badhber and Pakha Ghulam, he stressed the need for collective efforts for restoration of peace.
Deputy Speaker Provincial Assembly, Khush Dil Khan, President, ANP District, Peshawar, Arbab Najibullah, Commissioner Peshawar, Tariq Jamil and DCO Siraj Ahmad Khan were also present. Collective prayers for eternal peace of martyrs and early recovery of injured was offered on the occasion. The chief minister distributed cheques worth Rs 8.1 million among the heirs of 22 martyrs and 15 injured. The heirs of martyrs got cheque worth Rs 0.3 million each while injured were given with Rs 0.1 million each. The chief minister said that they were confronting an enemy that have nothing to do with hujra, mosque, funeral prayers and respect for humanity, adding elements involved in such acts were neither Muslims nor human beings.
He expressed solidarity and sympathy with affected families and said that it was not the first terror incident in Badabher and people of the area were victims of terrorism on several occasions. The chief minister paid tributes to their spirit, patience and courage. He said that nothing can substitute human life and the assistance from the provincial government aimed at expressing solidarity with affected families.
Presenting his report, DCO Siraj Ahmad Khan said that on the directives of the chief minister provision of speedy financial assistance to affected families has been strictly followed. He said that 17 died and 14 injured in Badabher incident while 5 people died 1 person got injured in Pakha Ghulam incident.
Meanwhile the Chief Minister chaired a high-level meeting at his office wherein he was given detailed presentation on restructuring of planning and development department for its capacity building. Suggestions and recommendations in this connection were principally agreed after detailed discussion. It was decided to put up recommendations in the upcoming meeting of the Cabinet for final approval.
