The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided not to enter into an electoral alliance with the PPP and PML-Q, nor will it make any seat adjustment with these two parties in the coming general elections. In an interview, Nawaz, however, said that the PML-N would consider seat adjustment with the Jamit Ulema-I-Islam-F (JUI-F) and Jamaat-i-Islami in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Criticising the PPP government, he said it had not taken any step to resolve the problems of the common man. Instead, he said, the PPP government indulged in large-scale corruption and destroyed the national economy. He said, if voted to power, the PML-N government would give special attention to solve the energy crisis. To achieve this goal, the PML-N government would build small dams and set up gas-fired power plants to provide cheap electricity to the people, he added.
Nawaz said that the PML-N has chalked out plans to promote information technology and technical and vocational education, helping fight unemployment. "By promoting education, we will be able to export trained manpower to the Middle East and other countries," he said.
To another question, Nawaz said that his party would also introduce reforms in the transport sector like mass transit system to provide cheap transportation to the public. To a query, Nawaz accused the PPP government of defying Supreme Court's orders, which, according to him, showed its seriousness about establishing rule of law and democratic norms.
