Pakistan and Japan relations have grown to the mutual benefit of both nations, but Pakistan needs to do much more if it is to join the list of developed countries. This was stated by Masahiru Sato, the Consul General of Japan in Karachi at a reception hosted at Jaffer House to celebrate Pakistan Japan 60 Years of Friendship & Diplomatic Relations.
Sato said Pakistan can make steady economic progress if it pays attention to ensure there is consistent economic policy, law and order, and an egalitarian society that embraces education and peaceful coexistence. The Japanese envoy also said that the Japan Fest held in Karachi earlier this year had attracted many visitors. Japan Fest would be held next year as well.
Earlier, the Chairman Pakistan Japan Business Forum, Abdul Kader Jaffer in his welcome address said the PJBF was always striving to assist the governments of both countries to further strengthen the existing bilateral economic relations and 60 years of ties between the two countries have seen it become ever closer.
The speeches were followed by presentation of a memento to Japanese Consul General Masahiru Sato by Kader Jaffer and a musical evening at which a musical group from Japan performed four Japanese songs while a dancer from Turkey enthralled the audience to some enchanting numbers.-PR
