Ameer, Jamaat-i-Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has strongly condemned the killing of 18 people in Karachi and demanded of the Chief Justice of Supreme Court to take again suo motu notice on Karachi situation. According to a statement issued at Mansoora on Saturday, he said the Sindh government had become failure and the city had virtually been taken hostage by the target killers and terrorists.
He deplored that more than a dozen people were murdered in a day under the nose of law enforcement agencies. He criticised Sindh coalition government, saying all three parties in government were fighting each for taking control of the areas in the metropolis in order to secure their authority in future. JI Ameer regretted that if the government had taken actions against the extortionists and target killers as pointed out in the joint investigation report the situation would be different from the recent one.
Syed Munawar Hasan said most of the areas of Karachi had turned into battlefield but government seemed least bother about the problems being faced by the common people. He demanded of the high ups to take strict action against the responsible shattering the peace of the city.
