The establishment of relief camps, arrangements for supply of food and drinking water in relief camps as well as in marooned areas, establishment of medical camps, availability of life saving drugs and anti venom serum and other social issues were also discussed in detail in the meeting. The Commissioner directed the officers of Irrigation Department to maintain close co-ordination with the district administration and keep their machinery functional besides strengthening of all embankments of Indus River and venerable points as well as its allied channels to sustain the pressure of water.
While taking serious notice of absence of some officers from the meeting, he directed that they must seek prior permission before leaving their districts otherwise strict action would be taken against them adding that they should launch a fumigation drive in their districts to eradicate any symptoms of Malaria and Dengue virus there.
All the participants of the meeting briefed the Commissioner about the arrangements made in their respective areas in advance. The Commissioner asked the officers of HESCO to exempt the pumping stations from load shedding particularly during the rainy season and start a drive for cleaning of high transmission lines to avoid any causalities.
