Car lifters stole two vehicles from the jurisdiction of Aabpara Police Station. One case each of car lifting and robbery was reported to the Industrial Area Police Station. Ternol and Sabzi Mandi police stations registered one case each of car lifting. Sihala and Nilore police stations registered one case each of robbery. Koral and Kohsar Police stations registered one case each of car lifting. One case each of robbery was reported to Bhara Khau and Women's Police stations.
Police source said that police had not been able to trace culprits behind the cases registered so far, giving credence to the notion that police lacked the capacity to investigate and control street crimes in the city. He said that police had also not been able to arrest accused nominated in several cases and they were still at large. He said that the car thieves were also active in the city and they were so "skilled" that they could "jam" the car's tracking system.
