Indian college students to worship Jacqueline, Ranveer to find perfect partners

As part of their strange ritual, Delhi University’s Hindu College will worship actors Jacqueline Fernandez and Ranveer Singh on Valentine’s Day.

Every year on Valentine’s Day, Hindu College hostel students shortlist a popular Bollywood female actor and worship the actor in hopes to increase their chances of scoring a date, finding their perfect partner and not remaining a virgin anymore, Hindustan Times reported.

This year, male students have chosen Jacqueline Fernandez and female students have shortlisted Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh as their love guru.

“Sticking to the rituals, our ‘Mr Fresher’ from first year will be the priest and he will conduct the ceremony. He will dress up as a priest in dhoti and conduct an aarti. Students will hang posters of Jacqueline on a traditional college tree,” said a student of third year.

“We are upholding our custom and conducting the ceremony on Valentine's Day with sole hope that students find their partner this year,” Indian media quoted the student. This strange ritual has been going on since college's inception.
