Speaking on the background to the forum, CIMA County Head, Javaria Hassan said the topic was based on the grave national interest and impact it has on Pakistan. Economic power bases are moving East, in our direction, and in these circumstances are we ready to grab the apparent opportunities? The objective of the forum is to draw attention of policy makers to the potential of Pakistan becoming a 'global economic player' and facilitate overall industry growth.
Three important potential pillars: National, Economic and Commercial will form the hub under which the forum will pivot and will be led by eminent speakers Sharmila Farooqui, Sitara-e-Imtiaz, Advisor to CM Sindh, Asad Umar who is Senior Vice President, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, Qaiser Ahmed Shaikh, President of Qaiser group of companies.
An added feature at the forum will be an opportunity to listen to the views of the Head of National Portfolio Development - Sri Lanka & Maldives United Nations (UNOPS) - Rohantha Authukorala who is based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He will be delivering a presentation on 'Cost of conflict in Sri Lanka and post conflict benefits of peace'.
