The Balochistan Assembly on Thursday approved Rs 27.97 billion supplementary budget of 2011-12. The assembly session was chaired by Speaker Muhammad Aslam Bhootani. Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani was also present in the House.
Provincial Finance Minister Mir Asim Kurd presented demands of Rs 12.31 billion of ongoing non-development expenditures of 2011-12 and Rs 15 billion of development expenditures, including Rs 666 million of other demands.
Taking part in the debate on the Provincial Fiscal Budget for Year 2012-13, Minister for Mines and Minerals Mir Abdul Rehman termed the budget a balanced one. "The incumbent government has undertaken a record development works," he said and added that adequate funds had been allocated for public sector development programme in the new budget.
Minister for Rural Development Haji Ismail Gujjar said that sufficient funds were earmarked for sectors, including health, and education which would directly benefit masses. Ghulam Jan Baloch alleged that his development funds were not released. Another Minister Zahoor Buledi while appreciating the budget said that allocated funds would help in improving livestock sector of the province. Later, the house was adjourned till Friday.
