Pakistan Muslim League-Q President, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said on Friday that certain individuals were trying to exploit the recent developments due to their personal animus and to show off their loyalties before someone.
During a meeting with PML office bearers and workers, Shujaat said that there exists close ties between his family and Malik Riaz Hussain since long. He said, "Malik Riaz Hussain has countless social and humanitarian services to his credit."
According to Shujaat, Malik Riaz is privy to many secrets behind the rise and fall of governments and their disclosure is liable to expose many so-called credible personalities.
The PML leader maintained that although there were people richer than Malik Riaz but they were not inclined to spend on others. Shujaat advised the public to also keep in mind Malik Riaz's various social and humanitarian services amid the current developments.
Recounting Malik Riaz's services, Shujaat cited his help in billions of rupees for the relief and rehabilitation of the 2005 earthquake and 2010 floods victims, his benevolent help to countless deserving individuals and charitable organisations and his Bahria Dastarkhwan initiative where innumerable hungry and poor were being daily fed throughout the country.
He also referred to Malik's noble gesture of paying Rs 130 million as ransom money for the release of Pakistanis captured by Somali pirates.
Shujaat said that at his personal request, Malik Riaz had paid for the treatment of many poor and deserving cancer and heart patients.
Calling Malik a self made man, Shujaat said that being successful through sheer hard work was not a crime. He said, currently the work force in Malik Riaz Hussain's business organisations numbered in lakhs and that Malik Riaz enjoyed the trust of Pakistanis at home and abroad.
Shujaat quoting Malik Riaz's interview given to the media said the Punjab government had received 850 million of rupees from him against the Ashyana Housing Scheme and he had also constructed houses for 2010 flood victims.
Commenting on Riaz's business credibility, Shujaat said that he was personally aware of the overwhelming public interest in Malik Riaz's housing projects and said that a few months back police had to be called in to control thousands of buyers gathered at Bahria Town Islamabad office for purchase of forms.
He said that Malik Riaz Hussain's business organisations enjoyed public trust and damaging this trust would serve no one's interest.
