Lawmakers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Tuesday staged a protest walkout against the killings of their party workers during the Sindh Assembly session. Deputy parliamentary leader of MQM in the Sindh Assembly, Faisal Sabzwari protested his party's workers killings in the city.
He warned that the continued killings of workers have brought his party to lose patience. He asked the government to bring the culprits to justice irrespective of their political and otherwise affiliations. Raza Haroon said enough is enough and violence against the MQM workers should stop. He said now the recurrent walkouts of his political members from assembly have become fruitless.
He demanded of the government to provide protection to the citizens. After three minutes of walkout, MQM's members returned the house to attend the assembly session. Meanwhile, Pakistan People's Party's (PPP) Rafiq Engineer said in his constituency poor workmen are being killed whom have no political affiliations to any party. He said people of his area are being abducted and then killed.
He said the MQM is a coalition partner of PPP in the government and killings of Urdu speaking people are also condemnable. He said the PPP understood the feelings of the MQM members about the killings of their party workers. He also demanded a full-fledged action against the outlaws. Sindh Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Ayaz Soomro said it was very difficult for the government to deploy police at every nook and corner of Karachi, as it is the biggest city of Pakistan. He said the government has to ask the Khyber Pakhunkhwa and Balochistan governments to lend its police force to Sindh so that the shortage of force could be bridged. He was speaking during the MQM's walkout on the assembly floor.
