Medical bills reimbursement: Sindh government likely to enhance amount up to Rs 0.1 million
Sindh government is likely to enhance the powers of all administrative departments and their subsidiaries for reimbursement of medical bills of employees/officers up to Rs 0.1 million, Business Recorder learnt here on Wednesday.
Currently, all administrative departments of provincial government and their subsidiaries have the powers of reimbursement of medical bills of their employees/officers up to Rs 5000. Sources inside the Finance Department told that a summary in this regard has been moved to Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah for the approval which will be approved very soon.
In said summary, it was stated that all administrative departments and their subsidiaries can reimburse the medical bills of their employees/officers up to Rs 5000 only while excessive bills forwarded to the Services Rules (SR) Wing of Finance Department for the approval. Resulting, thousands of government employees/officers affiliated with various departments suffering from delay which occurs due to workload on Finance Department, summary stated according to sources.
In this connection, a Deputy Secretary Finance Department told Business Recorder with condition of not quoting his name that he is also listening that summary regarding the enhancement of powers of departments for reimbursement of medical bills has been moved to Chief Minister House for the approval. He said that if this summary would be approved than workload on Finance Department would be reduced automatically and concerned staff can do other assignments of department.
