Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday suspended the MD of Wasa, Javed Iqbal, for failing to make necessary pre-monsoon arrangements. The Chief Minister issued the orders inspecting the work on the Allama Iqbal Road extension project.
Expressing annoyance over the delay in the completion of the Dharampura drain, he acted on complaints relating to open manholes in the metropolis.
Directing the authorities concerned for quick completion of the Allama Iqbal Road extension project, he warned that delay would not be tolerated.
Later, at the Minar-e-Pakistan camp office, he called for evolving an effective system for maintenance of playgrounds in the city and said that the government lands should be retrieved from land grabbers. He said that separate playgrounds for women were also being constructed.
