Forage harvesting lays the foundation for a successful subsequent harvest. The aim of any farmer is to create maximum quality at minimum cost. By using the latest powerful technologies, CLAAS can guarantee timely, effective and loss-free harvesting.
Through its range of complete, perfectly matched harvest chains from mowing, tedding and swathing to loading, chopping or baling, CLAAS can offer unique, well-designed forage harvesting technologies that are suited to various farm structures.
All mowers, swathers and tedders from CLAAS are developed and manufactured in Bad Saulgau, Germany. In addition to an ultra-modern production there is one of the most state-of-the-art test centres for forage harvesting machinery world-wide.
DISCO mowers The very first CLAAS front mowers were launched over 30 years ago, and were a major leap forward in achieving higher productivity rates, providing twice as much capacity in mowing applications.
The DISCO 290, 250 and 210 are equipped with the tried-and-tested CLAAS in-line mower bar, which achieve working widths of 2.85, 2.45 and 2.10 metres, depending on the model. The mower bar housing, manufactured from high-grade steel, lends the bar its solid, robust characteristics. Extra-large toothed gears and robust ball bearings ensure a long service life and high functional reliability. The indentation on the underside of the bar enables dirt and other contamination to empty out to the rear. The bar is also brush-cleaned by the stubble left behind. This helps avoid crop contamination, resulting in a high forage quality.
LINER swathers With LINER single-rotor swathers, farmers benefit from the reliability of CLAAS technology. These machines are equipped with tried-and-tested, continuously lubricated rotor housing with PROFIX tine arm connection, as used in the larger series.
CLAAS is offering five models in the single rotor rake range: the LINER 450 / 420 / 370 which are mounted on the three-point linkage and the LINER 450 T and 370 T trailed variants. With working widths of 3.50 m - 4.50 m, the new LINERs are particularly well suited for use by small and medium-sized farms that organise their own forage harvesting.
VOLTO tedders The objective is to keep drying times to a minimum and ensure an excellent forage quality. Through the VOLTO tedder range, CLAAS offers modern trailed or three-point hitching technology with working widths of 4.50 to 13.00 metres: expedient in performance, work quality and operating comfort.
MARKANT balers Today, a number of approaches are taken when it comes to straw and hay harvesting. On large farms, there is still a trend towards round bales or large square bales. In contrast - owing to the ease of handling by individual farm workers - a smaller bale size remains the preferred choice on smaller farms employing traditional farming methods.
The tried-and-tested CLAAS knotters tie perfect knots so that the bales stay in shape. The MARKANT produces highly compressed, firm and perfectly shaped bales for ease of transportation and storage. The machine's high standards of efficiency and reliability over many years of harvesting, even under the most strenuous of conditions, are further selling points.
