Four more persons fell prey to the ongoing spate of targeted killings in different areas of the metropolis here on Sunday. According to police and rescue sources, two persons were gunned down near Bazaar-e-Faisal, Karimabad in the jurisdiction of Azizabad police station.
The incident took place at the link road of Bazaar-e-Faisal near Karimabad where unidentified armed men targeted Noor Mohammad, 35, son of Gul Marjan and Shakeel, 31, son of Shabbir Ahmed when they were on the way to somewhere on bike.
Resultantly, they received multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot. The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for legal formalities. SHO Haseeb Qureshi said the deceased Noor was residing of Saeedabad, Baldia while Shakeel was living in Faqeer Colony, Orangi Town. No case was registered till filing of this report.
An activist of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) was shot dead in Gabol Goth near Safoora Chowrangi in the precincts of Sachal police station. The victim Sarfaraz Baloch, 32 son of Haq Nawaz Baloch, was targeted when he was sitting with his friend. Resultantly, he received multiple bullet injuries and succumbed to his injuries on the way to a nearby private hospital. Police said the victim was the resident of Chapel Sun City and was in charge of PPP UC-12. Following the killing, tension prevailed in the locality where all commercial and social activities remained suspended. No case was registered till filing of this report.
A bullet-riddled body of a man was recovered form Jaama Cloth market in the limits of Aram Bagh police station. The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained. Police said the victim, who was hit by three bullets, was apparently kidnapped and then murdered. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico legal formalities and later moved to Edhi Morgue. A case 189/12 was registered against unidentified men on the complaint of state.
