The Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Agha Sohail Pathan who was also the Chairman of Lal Shahbaz Mella Committee informed that Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad would inaugurate 760th 3-day Annual Urs celebrations of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA) which to be commenced from 9th July 2012 while Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah would be the Chief Guest at concluding session of annual Urs celebrations and to distribute Lal Shahbaz Qalandar Awards at the evening hours on 11th July 2012.
This he informed while giving briefing at the Sindh Information Department (SID) Media Forum at Divisional Information Office, Shahbaz Building, Hyderabad, today, Assistant Commissioner Sehwan and Secretary Lal Shahbaz Mella Committee Syed Attaullah Shah also accompanied him. The Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Agha Sohail Pathan informed that as many as 1.5 million devotees from all over the country are expected to participate in these celebrations for which strict but foolproof security measures have been made.
He said that four kilometers radius of Mella area would be closely monitored through the system with 100 close circuit cameras, walk through gates and metal detectors and other gadgets established last year with the cost of Rs 80 million by Sindh police. He said that about 8,800 security personnel including 7,000 police personnel from other districts, 1,000 from Jamshoro district and 800 Rangers personnel would be deployed to ensure safe and secure atmosphere to the devotees during the Urs celebrations.
He said that on first day of Mela, Sugharan Jee Katchery, second day Adabi Conference and third day musical concert and awards distribution ceremony would be more important programmes of the annual Urs celebrations. He said that Agro-Industrial Exhibition, Mellakhro and other folk musical programmes would continue to all three days.
He said that since Mella of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA) is a Mega event even in subcontinent, where millions of people are participating, his administration has planned uninterrupted sewerage, water supply and electric supply facilities to the participants. He said that Sehwan Town would be exempted from load shedding during Urs celebrations while extra standby generators have also been arranged to meet any eventuality of power breakdown in case of technical fault. He said that all the roads, streets of Sehwan town have been got repaired and cleaned from all kinds of hurdles and broken electric wires have been resettled to avoid any difficulty or untoward incident.
He said that a separate Road Safety Plan (RSP) has also been chalked out under which traffic police right from Petaro to Sehwan Sharif would be deployed. Besides reflectors/ glasses have been installed and speed breakers have also been made at the curvy places of Indus Highway to avoid any traffic incident. He said that 100 Mobile Medical camps have been arranged out of which 50 medical camps to remain at mella area while 50 medical camps would be made available at different points of Indus Highway to meet any eventuality of accident.
