ISLAMABAD: The nationwide tally of Covid-19 positive cases has reached 208,021 with 4,241 deaths and 95,407 recoveries, authorities said on Monday.

According to the latest data on Covid-19 released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) and the provincial governments, the country during past 24 hours recorded 3,257 cases, and 97 deaths.

According to the figures, Sindh reported 1,509 cases, Punjab 576, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa 398, Islamabad Capital Territory 248, Balochistan 115, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) 19, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) 22 Covid-19 cases.

Pakistan's recoveries from Covid-19 have crossed 95,000 as 2,783 people were confirmed to have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours.

According to the government's database on Covid-19, the total number of recoveries has risen to 95,407. Sindh has reported another 1,509 new cases and 74 deaths during the past 24 hours, according to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

In a statement issued by the CM House, this is the highest death toll reported in the province so far. The provincial Covid-19 cases tally has risen to 81,955, while the death toll is 1,343.

Punjab has reported 576 new cases, according to the government's Covid-19 portal, taking the provincial total to 74,778 cases. It has also recorded eight more deaths from the virus, taking the total number of fatalities to 1,681.

According to the portal, 26,062 people have so far recovered from the virus. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 398 new cases taking province's total to 25,778, and eight more lives were lost taking the total to 922.

In KP, 199 patients recovered taking the tally to 12,348. Balochistan has reported 115 new Covid-19 cases, and two more deaths during the past 24 hours, according to the provincial health department's daily situation report.

With the new cases, the provincial tally has risen to 10,376, while the death toll has risen to 116. Islamabad has reported 248 new cases, according to the government's Covid-19 portal, taking the capital's tally of cases to 12,643.

Gilgit-Baltistan has reported 19 new cases, while Azad Jammu and Kashmir has confirmed 22 more, taking their tallies to 1,442, and 1,049, respectively. Islamabad has also recorded five deaths from the virus in the last 24 hours.

The AJK and GB have not reported new fatalities. Meanwhile, the NDMA, and Reckitt and Benckiser, would execute disinfectant spray in three major cities under public-private partnership as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

According to spokesperson of the authority, an agreement had been inked on Monday with Reckitt and Benckiser to perform disinfectant sprays in vulnerable areas of Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad to combat Covid-19.

The agreement was signed by NDMA chairman Lt-Gen Muhammad Afzal and chief executive officer of Reckitt and Benckiser in a ceremony.
