ISLAMABAD: Quetta Customs Friday recovered huge quantity of hashish (charas) (435kg) from a coach bus coming from border area at Yaroo Check post. The estimated value of the said narcotics in international markets is around Rs 100 million.

According to sources that information was received by collector irfan Javed that huge quantity of narcotics will be smuggled via Chaman-Quetta routes. Direction was passed to Additional Yasir Kulwar, Deputy Collector Akbar Jan Gundapoor Assistant Collector Ameer Khan.

The staff of customs check post Yaroo under the supervision of Superintendent Saleem Mundokhail and Inspector Muhammad Iqbal were kept alert to maintain strict vigilance over vehicular traffic. Accordingly, the staff of customs check posts Yaroo intercepted a suspected bus coach. On through search, 435 kilogramme of charas (hashish) in wet conditions packed in one kg recovered which were concealed in specially designed cavities in the body of the said vehicle. while staff was busy in checking of said vehicle the driver escaped from the scene taking the advantage of darkness.

Therefore, the staff of Yaroo Customs Check Posts took the possession of the said narcotics and vehicle. FIR being lodged against the unknown persons. Further investigation in the matter is in progress. Chief Collector Dr Saifuddin Junejo and Collector Preventive Quetta Irfan Javed appreciated the staff for huge narcotics case.
