CPEC's Azad Pattan Hydel power project signing ceremony today
- It may be mentioned here that the Azad Pattan Hydropower Project is a 700 MW hydroelectric power station on the Jhelum River roughly 7 km upstream of Azad Pattan Bridge in the Sudhanoti District of Azad Kashmir.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair the signing ceremony of Azad Pattan Hydel power project today (Monday), the project is part of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative.
“CPEC makes another milestone achievement; PM will grace the signing ceremony of Azad Pattan Hydel power Project today with China Gezhouba,” informed CPEC Authority Chairman Lt Gen (retd) Asiam Saleem Bajwa, in a tweet post.
“With an investment of $1.5Bn-no fuel import, we move towards cheaper and greener power,” added Bajwa, while sharing images of the project.
It may be mentioned here that the Azad Pattan Hydropower Project is a 700 MW hydroelectric power station on the Jhelum River roughly 7 km upstream of Azad Pattan Bridge in the Sudhanoti District of Azad Kashmir and 90 km from Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan.
The project is scheduled for completion by 2026.
