KARACHI: On Tuesday, upon market closing, Pakistan Rupee lost value against USD in interbank market. It also generally lost value against other major currencies in open market.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee weakened by 20 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 166.60 and 166.80 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR lost 10 paisas for buying while remaining unchanged for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 166.80 and 167.20 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR remained unchanged for buying while gaining 50 paisas for selling with respect to yesterday's rates closing at 186 and 187.50 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR lost 15 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 45 and 45.20 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR lost 10 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 43.90 and 44.10 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee witnessed divergent trend in the process of trading against the greenback in the open currency market on Tuesday.
Following fluctuating demand and supply situation in the market, the greenback could not stabilise throughout the trading session as it moved both ways and ended for buying and selling at Rs 166.80 and Rs 167.70 against the overnight closing rate of Rs 166.60 and Rs 168.00 respectively, local currency dealers said.
Moreover, the national continued downward trend for the second consecutive day against the pound sterling. Consequently, the pound's buying and selling rates further improved from the Monday's closing of Rs 205.50 and Rs 207.00 to Rs 206.00 and Rs 207.50 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 20 paisas against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Tuesday.
The dollar opened at Rs 167.70(buying) and Rs 167.80(selling) against last rate of Rs 167.50(buying) and Rs 167.60(selling).
It closed at Rs 167.70(buying) and Rs 167.80(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold were Rs. 111,300(selling) and Rs 110,100(selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
