PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to KP CM on Information, Kamran Khan Bangash has said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cattle markets before Eid-ul-Azha in view to protect people from COVID19.
Briefing the media here in Information Cell at Civil Secretariat, he said that according to SOPs cattle markets would be set up outside the cities and instead of establishing big cattle markets, more small markets would be set up to avoid rush in one place.
He said arrangements will also be made to avoid congestion around the cattle markets, while the traffic police would have the responsibility to come up with a plan to avoid traffic congestion.
Kamran Bangash said that district administration will check the condition of these markets and no cattle market would be set up without registration. "Elder people and children will not be allowed to enter the cattle markets, so the elders are requested to refrain from entering the markets," he said.
The Special assistant said that just like in all other places, entry without a mask is prohibited, similarly, entry into the cattle markets without a mask is not allowed while the temperature of every person entering cattle market will be checked with thermal gun.
He said that hand washing and sanitizer facilities will be available in the markets. Kamran Bangash said that during the Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr, people were seen careless regarding SOPs, and the result was a sharp rise in the number of cases of corona after Eid, but this time the government did its best.
He said that people should take precautionary measures during Eid-ul-Azha and Muharram. In this regard, Prime Minister Imran Khan has also appealed to the people to follow guidelines issued by government during Eid-ul-Azha.
Special Assistant said that Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has directed that these formulated SOPs be strictly implemented as protection of health and life of the people is the top priority of the government. In light of these orders, the administration is active in every district.
"Social distance, use of masks and washing of hands from time to time are necessary to prevent corona," Kamran added. Special Assistant appealed the people not to neglect these precautionary measures during the preparations for Eid Azha.
Talking about government's initiatives regarding Corona virus Kamran Bangash said that since the outbreak of pandemic, provincial government was fully focused on enhancing hospitals capacity including tasting capacity across the province adding that last week Chief Minister Mahmood inaugurated a hospital for corona patients in Nishtarabad having capacity of 58 beds including HDU and ICU.
Kamran Bangash stated that with the support of NDMA Corona centre was being made in Peshawar Institute of Cardiology where all health facilities would be provided to covid-19 patients.
Kamran Bangash added that the said hospital would have the capacity of 300 beds initially hospital would have 50 beds including 34 HDU and 16 ventilator beds.
