KARACHI: On Tuesday, upon market closing, Pakistan Rupee recorded a general gain in value in both interbank and open markets and overcame yesterday's losses to some extent.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, after closing, Pakistan Rupee had gained 60 paisas for buying and 70 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 167.70 and 168 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, after closing, PKR had gained 80 paisas for buying and 60 paisas for selling over yesterday's rates closing at 167.60 and 168.20 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR remained unchanged for buying while losing 50 paisas for selling closing at 190 and 191.50 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR gained 5 paisas for buying while remaining unchanged for selling closing at 45.25 and 45.50 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR gained 5 paisas for buying and 10 paisas for selling closing at 44.15 and 44.30 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee witnessed a historic decline in the process of trading against the greenback and the British pound in the local currency market on Tuesday.
The short supply phenomenon of the greenback prevailed for the second consecutive day in the market which helped its further appreciation for buying and selling at Rs 168.00 and Rs 169.20 against the overnight closing rate of Rs 167.30 and Rs 168.70 respectively, local currency dealers said.
Likewise, the local currency also followed suit and in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 210.50 and Rs 212.30 against the Monday's closing trend of Rs 209.50 and Rs 211.00 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained Rs 1 against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Tuesday.
The dollar opened at Rs168.80 buying) and Rs 168.90( selling) against last rate of Rs167.80(buying) and Rs167.90(selling).
It closed at Rs168.80 buying) and Rs 168.90(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 112,700 (selling) and Rs 112,500(selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
