KARACHI: On Wednesday, Pakistan Rupee continued to generally gain value against major currencies in interbank and open markets. However, similar to yesterday, this gain did not materialize against Euro in open market.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee had gained 10 paisas for buying and 30 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 167.60 and 167.70 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR remained unchanged for buying while gaining 30 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 167.60 and 167.90 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR had lost one rupee for buying and 50 paisas for selling over yesterday's rates closing at 191 and 192 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR had gained15 paisas for buying and 10 paisas for selling closing at 45.10 and 45.40 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR had gained 15 paisas for buying and 10 paisas for selling as well closing at 44 and 44.20 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee recovered its day earlier losses versus the American dollar and the British pound in the local currency market on Wednesday.
Following lack of buyers' interest in the market, the dollar remained under selling pressure throughout the trading session and closed for buying and selling at Rs 167.70 and Rs 168.80 against the overnight closing rate of Rs 168.00 and Rs 169.20 respectively, local currency dealers said.
Similarly, the rupee also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 209.50 and Rs 211.40 against the Tuesday's closing trend of Rs 210.50 and Rs 212.30 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee recovered 20 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Wednesday.
The dollar opened at Rs168.60 (buying) and Rs 168.70 (selling) against last rate of Rs168.80 (buying) and Rs 168.90 (selling).
It closed at Rs168.60 (buying) and Rs 168.70 (selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs 116,500 (selling) and Rs 116,000 (selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
