ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz on Thursday said that the opposition is pressurising government but Prime Minister Imran Khan will not compromise at any cost.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Thursday, he said that FATF legislation is for Pakistan but the opposition linked it to the NAB Act, adding that one would laugh if they read their [opposition] amendments.

"The basic purpose of opposition's amendments to the NAB law is getting NRO," Faraz said, adding that they wanted to make a law in their own eyes. The minister said that Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto was living in a glass house and throwing stones at other people's houses, adding that he [Bilawal] criticised the prime minister, he is either ignorant or lie knowing everything.

Shibli Faraz went on to say that PM Imran Khan and his family worked hard to build assets, adding that they do not have the assets like the PPP chairman. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan is an honest and hardworking leader and he will continue strict accountability.

"Imran Khan has already presented the record of his earning from cricket in the Supreme Court," he said. The Information Minister said people of Pakistan have elected Imran Khan as Prime Minister to play a role for welfare of the country.

He urged the nation to strictly observe the precautionary measures and follow the SOPs during Eid days to contain the corona pandemic. He said cooperation of the nation in this regard is very essential for complete elimination of this global pandemic.
