LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to approach the Supreme Court (SC) for cancellation of bail of former Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq and his brother Khawaja Salman after Eid-ul-Azha. According to NAB sources a draft of appeal has been prepared and same will be filed before the SC after approval of Chairman NAB.
It has been submitted in the appeal that SC had already passed directions for short judgments in bail matter but in the present case SC itself discussed the merits of the case which would affect the trial of the case. It has further been contended that SC ignore the arguments of the prosecution and accept the factual facts of counsel of respondents without provision of documents.
At the other hand record proves that respondents used the accounts of paragon city scheme and made money. The appeal said cases against the respondents were initiated during their own government and added NAB would assist the court further about the merits of the case.
NAB had adopted proper procedure for initiating reference against the respondents and asked the court to cancel their bails in the light of the facts and also in accordance with the law.
