Route from Kashmir Chowk to Murree, Muzaffarabad renamed 'Srinagar Highway'
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed has said that highway starting from Kashmir Chowk and leading to Murree and Muzaffarabad has been renamed as 'Srinagar Highway'.
This route, he said, may also be termed as 'Road to Srinagar'.
As the chief guest, he was addressing a simple but graceful 'unveiling ceremony of Srinagar Highway' held here on Monday, participated by Secretary Communications Zafar Hasan, Chairman National Highway Authority Capt (retd) Sikander Qayyum and senior officers from the Ministry of Communications and the National Highways Authority (NHA). A large number of media persons were also present.
Murad Saeed said, Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan as ambassador of the Kashmiris, had highlighted the Kashmir issue on global forums successfully.
He said, on August 05, 2019, India undertook illegal action in held Kashmir by laying siege to the entire valley. He said that that brutal act of India is being condemned internationally.
Declaring "Modi" as Hitler of the present era, he said, steps of Modi had not only created problems for the Kashmiris but those would also bring hardships for India and that would ultimately lead to break up of India in the near future.
He said, every Pakistani was standing with the Kashmiri brethren and that on August 5, 2020 complete solidarity would be expressed with the Kashmiris.
Murad Saeed also planted a tree on this occasion.
