Govt resumes domestic flight operations from all airports
- “All operators will be required to implement the established guidelines, SOPs, and to seek prior schedule approval from the Competent Authority,” said Pakistan Civil Aviation.
The government has given the green signal to resume domestic flight operations from all airports with effect from August 6, informed the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCCA) on Thursday.
The announcement excludes Turbat, Pangjur, Dalbadin, Zhob, Pasni, Moenjodaro, Nawabshah, and Bahawalpur airports.
“All operators will be required to implement the established guidelines, SOPs, and to seek prior schedule approval from the Competent Authority,” said Pakistan Civil Aviation.
“Moreover, Cargo, Special flights and Private Aircraft Operations will also be available for all Airports subjected to compliance with relevant SOPs,” it added.
The development comes amid ease in the number of coronavirus cases in the country.
Last month, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced a further reduction in fares for domestic flights.
In a tweet, it has been stated, "PIA offers an exclusive discount for those who are traveling with hand carry only. Now fly between Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad in just Rs9,572". This is the second time that the PIA management has announced a reduction in fares as the national flag-carrier had already slashed fares for domestic flights last week, and had fixed a price of Rs11,525 for a one-way ticket, inclusive of all taxes, for different destinations including Islamabad and other cities.”
