KARACHI: On Thursday, Pakistan Rupee lost value against USD in interbank market while slightly gaining value in open market. Euro continued to gain strength in Karachi open market following the global trend.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee lost 15 paisas for buying and 10 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 168.15 and 168.30 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR remained unchanged for buying while gaining 20 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 168.30 and 168.60 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR lost 2 rupees for buying and 1.5 rupees for selling over yesterday's rates closing at 198.50 and 200 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR lost 20 paisas for buying and 10 paisas for selling closing at 45.50 and 45.70 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR lost 10 paisas for buying while remaining unchanged for selling closing at 44.40 and 44.60 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee maintained downward trend for the third consecutive day versus the greenback and the British pound in the local currency market on Thursday.
The short supply phenomenon of the greenback prevailed for another day in the market which helped its further appreciation for buying and selling at Rs 168.30 and Rs 169.80 against the overnight closing rates of Rs 168.00 and Rs 169.20 respectively, local currency dealers said.
Likewise, the national currency also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 219.60 and Rs 220.90 against the Wednesday's closing trend of Rs 217.50 and Rs 219.00 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 50 paisas against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Thursday.
The dollar opened Rs168.70(buying) and Rs 168.80(selling) against last rate of Rs167.20(buying) and Rs 167.30(selling).
It closed atRs168.70(buying) and Rs 168.80(selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 123,400(selling) and Rs 123,250(selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
