ISLAMABAD: The federal capital witnessed a slight decline in coronavirus cases on Saturday with 32 new cases, as life returned to normalcy in the city after the district administration allowed all the shops to remain open under the standard operating procedures (SOPs) on the weekends with no time restrictions.
According to the data released by District Health Officer (DHO)'s office, the administration received 32 new cases of the coronavirus, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 15,214 in the federal capital.
On Friday, the capital has witnessed a total of 41 new cases of the Covid-19. In the last 24 hours, a total of 2,165 tests were performed, while 12,878 people have recovered from the coronavirus in the federal capital so far.
The DHO also urged the residents of the federal capital to follow the SOPs, so that to contain the virus from further spread. The administration on Friday allowed all the shops in Islamabad to remain open on weekends with no time restrictions. However, it added that strict SOPs would be implemented.
