LETTER: Remittances hitting record high is nothing but icing on the cake of the PTI government on the occasion of its two years in power as remittances from workers employed abroad have hit the highest level for a single month in July increasing 36.5% year on year.
According to media reports, global economic slowdown had raised fears that remittances, key to country's dwindling foreign exchange reserves, would decline. It is, however, heartening to note that workers' remittances to Pakistan have registered a highly significant boost. But this development must not breed complacency among those who are responsible for increasing country's exports and foreign investment.
