Apple removes thousands of games from its China’s App Store

Amid soaring tensions between United States and China, the American technology giant Apple has removed thousands of games from its App Store in China.
According to a report by The Verge, the development comes due to growing tensions between China and the US, after which Apple has removed more than 47,000 games from the Chinese App Store.
Chinese partnership is required to run foreign app stores in China, but Apple is the only company that manages the app store on its iPhone. According to the report, Apple has recently changed its policies to remove games from the App Store in China that are paid in advance or played online.
It should be noted that recently US President Donald Trump has banned commercial transactions from Chinese applications TikTok and VChat. The US president has imposed sanctions on Chinese applications at a time when relations between the two countries are strained over the coronavirus and issues pertaining to Hong Kong.
The Chinese app, TikTok, has been sharply criticized by US lawmakers as a threat to US national security, saying the app would allow the Chinese government to access US user data. However, the company has denied such accusations.
