LAHORE: Punjab Government has decided to connect all the commodity markets of the province with each other to maximum facilitate the stakeholders.

Quality cleanliness arrangements and plantation on maximum available area of these commodity markets is also being ensured to give a new look to these places having a friendly and comfortable environment for the sellers and buyers, said Punjab Agriculture Market Regulatory Authority (PAMRA) Chairman Naveed Anwar Bhinder while talking to newsmen after visiting the marketing wing of the Agriculture House here on Wednesday.

Special Secretary Agriculture (Marketing) Waqar Hussain and DG PAMRA Shaukat Ali were also present on this occasion.

Naveed said that the government is taking all-out steps to keep the commodity markets free of all encroachments while market fee schedule, commission and daily rates of different commodities are also being displayed in prominent places.

He said that markets are being remodelled on the latest lines after enforcement of PAMRA Act which will be beneficial for all the stakeholders. He said the biggest commodity market of Asia is being set up at Lakho Der at a cost of Rs 5 billion in which all the processing will be done through the latest machines. He said that the commodities will be selected through the latest scanners in this market which will be run on international standards.
