KARACHI: On Wednesday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 5.049. The traded value of metals, energy, COTS/FX and Indices was recorded at PKR 13.511 billion and the number of lots traded was 15,219.
Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 10.100 billion, followed by silver PKR 1.290 billion, currencies through COTS PKR 673.512 million, NSDQ 100 PKR 461.503 million, copper PKR 382.798 million, platinum PKR 211.931 million, crude oil PKR 205.570 million, natural gas PKR 159.903 million, SP500 PKR 15.387 million and DJ PKR 9.299 million.
In agriculture commodities, one lot of wheat amounting to PKR 4.307 million and one lot of cotton amounting to PKR 0.532 million were traded.
