- "From this year, electric buses will start running in Pakistan, and in three years, full manufacturing of these buses will commence in Pakistan," he added.
In a major step towards an Electric Vehicle future, electric buses will start running in Pakistan from this year informed Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry.
In a statement issued on Twitter, Fawad Chaudhry said, "A big step towards fulfilling another promise, a strategic alliance between Daewoo Pakistan and Skywell Company to bring electric buses to Pakistan will take place today," while sharing the snapshot of the invitation.
"From this year, electric buses will start running in Pakistan, and in three years, full manufacturing of these buses will commence in Pakistan," he added.
Back in November, the ride-hailing Pakistani startup Airlift, which connects passengers with buses on fixed-rate, announced that it would be bringing in electric buses to Pakistan, for which the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government.
The MoU was signed by Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Hussain Chaudhary and Co-founder/CEO of Airlift Technologies Usman Gul. “We are excited to put forth our plan of adding electric vehicles on our fleet, we are also extremely grateful for the support that we have received from all relevant government bodies,” said Airlift in a statement.
