ISLAMABAD: The country recorded the lowest number of deaths Saturday as only one patient was reported dead due to the Covid-19 during the last 24 hours.
According to updates provided by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), no coronavirus patient was on ventilator in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), and Balochistan.
The patient who expired on Friday was from Sindh.
Almost 112 ventilators were occupied across the country out of 1,920 ventilators allocated for the Covid-19, it added.
During the last 24 hours, 319 people were tested coronavirus positive, where the total active coronavirus cases reported across the country were 8,748.
However, 22,434 tests were conducted on August 28, as 5,247 in Sindh, 9,603 in Punjab, 3,556 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 3,004 in Islamabad, 473 in Balochistan, 276 in the GB, and 275 in the AJK.
Around 280,340 people had recovered so far across the country making it a significant count with over 90 percent recovery ratio.
Since the pandemic broke out a total of 295,372 cases have been detected so far including in the AJK 2,290, in Balochistan 12,804, GB 2,832, ICT 15,597, KP 35,971, Punjab 96,699, and in Sindh 129,179 cases. Since the contagion clutched masses across the country around 6,284 deaths were recorded.
In Sindh, 2,395 have lost battle for their lives, while fighting this virus, 2,195 in Punjab, 1,250 in the KP, where the one person died in hospital on August 27th.
Meanwhile, in the ICT 175 deaths were recorded, in Balochistan 141, in GB 67 individuals had died, whereas the lowest deaths were reported from the AJK, which remained 61.
After tireless strides since the first coronavirus case was reported in the country a total of 2,581,695 tests have been conducted so far.
Around 735 hospitals are equipped with coronavirus facilities with 1,084 patients admitted across the country.
