Govt decides to reopen education institutions on September 15
- Primary section will be reopened on September 30 after reviewing the situation.
The government decided on Monday to reopen education institutions that were closed for six months due to coronavirus, on September 15.
Education Minister Shafat Mahmood addressed a presser following a meeting of the inter-provincial education ministers’ conference today. The minister said that after reviewing the coronavirus situation, they have decided to reopen education institutions in phases.
In the first phase, colleges and universities will be reopened across the country on September 15. Classes for the student of 9 and 10 will also start from September 15, Mahmood said.
He further said that in the next phase, schools for the students of class 6 till 8 will be reopened on September 23. In the final phase, the education minister said, the classes from pre-primary to five would be opened on September 30.
He warned that if they find that any educational institution is not following the guidelines provided by the government, then strict action would be taken.
While addressing the media, Special Assitant to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Health Dr Faisal Sultan has urged all students to wear masks when classes start. He said even if a student is sick or has any symptoms, he must avoid going to school.
