ISLAMABAD: All Pakistan Schools and Colleges Association (APSCA) has rejected the government's decision of phase-wise re-opening of educational institutes across the country from Sep 15.

"All classes in schools should be reopened at the same time," said APSCA chairman Malik Abrar Hussain, here on Monday.

He added that more delay would be harmful to the students as five precious months of the academic year had already been lost. The APSCA chairman questioned when the shopping malls and other business activities were running in the country, then how come schools would increase Covid-19 patients?

Hussain alleged the government of targeting the schools and demanded to stop such practices and announce reopening of all classes of schools at the same time.

The inter-provincial education ministers' conference (IPEMC) on Monday decided in principle to allow educational institutes to reopen on Sep 15 starting from universities, colleges, and IX and X classes. All the provincial education ministers attended the meeting through video link.

APSCA executive committee demanded the government to allow full reopening of educational institutes from Sep 15.
