Brazil great Pele congratulates Ronaldo for surpassing 100-goal mark
The 35-year-old scored twice in Portugal's 2-0 victory over Sweden.
Brazil legend Pele has congratulated Cristiano Ronaldo for surpassing 100-goal mark in international career for Portugal.
The 35-year-old scored twice in Portugal’s 2-0 victory over Swede in the Nations League on Tuesday, stretching his tally to 101 in 165 appearances.
Ronaldo is now just eight strikes shy of matching the record for most international goals currently held solely by Iranian legend Ali Daei.
Pele, who himself scored 77 goals for Brazil, was quick to celebrate Ronaldo's latest milestone with the Juventus star once again exceeding expectations.
"I thought we were going to celebrate 100 goals today. But it was actually 101! Congratulations @Cristiano, as you reach new heights in your journey," Pele tweeted.
