KARACHI: Two prime suspects accused in the rape and murder of a six-year-old girl in Karachi's PIB Colony have been arrested, the Karachi police said on Monday.
The police identified the suspects as Faiz, who worked as a tailor in the neighbourhood where the victim lived, and Abdullah.
Police have also added terrorism charges in the case, and it will now be heard by an anti-terrorism court.
Last week, a police official had told a private television channel that the victim's neighbor, Nawaz, who was detained along with 16 other people, had been formally arrested "on the basis of evidence".
The body of the girl was found in a trash can at a park on September 6.
The incident sparked anger amongst the people of the nighbourhood who protested on the University Road after her burial on Sunday.
They demanded of the government to punish the perpetrators immediately.
