ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Security and Strategic Policy Planning Dr Moeed Yusuf said on Wednesday that Pakistan's political map was clearly shown during the National Security Advisers Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

Speaking to the media, Dr Yusuf said there was a summit meeting of national security advisers of the SCO and the host country requested three days ago all the technical groups of the participating countries to test their technologies, and during the test in the Prime Minister's Office, along with flags, new map was also present on the wall.

He said the India lodged formal complaint with Russia stating that during the test call, Pakistan's new map was very conspicuous, and we lodge a strong protest against it.

He said that by Tuesday night, this information was received by Pakistan and the government held a brief consultation because its stance was very clear.

He said Pakistan put forward its stance before the host that Pakistan's political map reflected its choice, thinking and its legal right.

Pakistan's stance was accepted, he said and added that Pakistan's focus in its speech was on four points that Pakistan being an important member of the SCO stood with it and supported SCO focus that world should function according to the UN norms and principles.

He said those countries who did not accept UN resolution and international law should be compelled by the world to accept UN resolution and resolve them, and third that there was no country that sacrificed parallel to Pakistan in war against terrorism, and Pakistan would continue to facilitate the peace process but the actual peace would come from within Afghanistan, and Pakistan should not be blamed if there were any hiccups in the process in the future.

He said that no country could guarantee peace in Afghanistan.

He said the last thing Pakistan spoke of was about regional connectivity and economic corridor.

Pakistan talks about regional connectivity and corridor, and Pakistan is going to CPEC and access to Central Asia for its economic security.
