Partly Facetious: Buzz has ambitions

“I don’t like our system of government.”

“You favour a presidential system? I don’t see what difference it would make – our last two hatted military dictator was removed from office even though he was unwilling to leave as his control over the legislature ended…”

“More importantly his control over the institution that had propped him ended.”

“I stand corrected but a presidential system gives the right to appoint technocrats….”

“Our Senate allows for technocrats, it’s besides the point that one can count competent technocrats on one finger…”

“Don’t be facetious.”

“See that brings me to what I meant when I said I don’t like our system of government - education or relevant experience aside once anyone is hired as a technocrat in this country he or she becomes as spineless as…as…”

“There is the snake and need I add one bite and you are in deep doo-doo especially given the lack of storage of anti-venom vaccines in our hospitals – private and public alike, then there is the black widow spider that kills…”

“OK but you know by spineless I meant someone who would forsake his or her principles for the sake of retaining their job. And it is here that I have reservations about our system.”

“The Khan doesn’t want to leave office just like his predecessors didn’t want to leave the office…”

“No those who have coveted and attained the highest office in the land based on their leadership in a party or within any institution is not who I am referring to. I mean the debris that our system allows to come up, Yousaf Reza Gilani or Raja Rental or the LNG King or shall I say the Air Blue King would never have been able to become the prime minister unless the system barred the real power wielder from taking over and it is these people who then mistakenly feel they are owed by the country….”

“Ha ha that’s right, never thought of that. The Buzz for example has peaked in his political career and…”

“The Buzz has ambitions - he is attacking those deemed worthy of attack at a national level – a stance that need I add the Khyber Pukhtookhwa chief minister has not taken.” “And his Minder, the C Man, is gunning for Shibli Faraz’s job because he too is taking on national opponents of the prime minister instead of focusing on the provincial opposition….”

“Indeed but the man I was thinking about is….can you guess?”

“Give me a hint.”

“The Consumer Price Index (CPI) last month was over 8 percent, the core inflation under 6 percent and the man who insisted on linking the discount rate to CPI, which includes items that are not responsive to the discount rate, against the past practice of linking it to core inflation announced an unchanged rate of 7 percent.”

“Hmmm I hear you.”
