ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has condemned the alleged interference of the federal government in elections in the Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B).

"The speaker National Assembly and federal ministers have nothing to do with elections in GB. We condemn the interference of [the] federal government in the elections. My party will only be engaging with the Election Commission GB on our demands for fair elections," Bilawal stated in a tweet on Saturday.

On Saturday, the PPP also invited application from aspiring candidates for the party ticket for the reserve seats for women and technocrats in the G-B elections.

The Pakistan Peoples Party-Parliamentarians (PPP-P) Secretary-General, Farhatullah Babar, said in a statement that the applicants should submit their applications by 28th September at Zardari House, Islamabad. A bank draft of Rs15,000 against the president PPP-P should also be attached with the application.
