ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet is expected to approve a proposal moved by the Commerce Division for reduction in commission charged by the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) on import of wheat and sugar, Wednesday (Sept 30).
The ECC meeting to be presided over by the Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, will consider the proposal of the Power Division for issuance of new Sovereign Guarantee by the Ministry of Finance in respect of fresh Syndicated Term Finance Facility Rs80.00 billion through the Power Holding Limited (PHL) for the purpose to of set off/adjustment of existing PHL Finance Facility of Rs80 billion executed pursuance to the ECC decision dated 07-03-18.
The ECC meeting will also take up Petroleum Division proposal of sale price of natural gas and the Ministry of Communication proposal for conversion of the National Highways Authority loans into government grant or waive off.
The ECC will also take up Ministry of Industries and Production civil petition by Pakistan Steel against Muhammad Zardad Abbasi and 75 others before the Supreme Court of Pakistan, and order dated 16.08.2018 in CPNo-D-1388/2017 field by Syed Umer Baqi and 842 others in the High Court of Sindh, Karachi.
