FAISALABAD: The Punjab police on Monday arrested Abid Malhi, the prime suspect in the Lahore motorway gang-rape case from Faisalabad after one month and two days.
According to police, Lahore motorway gang-rape suspect Abid Malhi has been arrested from Faisalabad and being shifted to Lahore where his DNA test will be taken.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) for Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill taking to Twitter also confirmed the arrest of the prime suspect, Abid Malhi, involved in the gang-rape of a woman on the Lahore-Sialkot motorway.
Abid Malhi had managed to evade arrest four times by escaping the clutches of the Punjab police.
Police said a trap had been laid out for the motorway rape prime suspect, falling into which he was apprehended by police. Sources informed Geo News that Malhi's wife was given a SIM which she used to call him.
