KARACHI: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has supported the demand from All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) to provide uninterrupted power and gas supply at cheaper rates to compete in the international market.
President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Ghazanfar Bilour, in a statement here on Tuesday, also expressed concern over the closure of over 100 textile mills in the country.
'If sick textile units are made operational, these can generate billions of rupees through exporting the finished products,' he asserted.
He said that the textile had 65 to 70 percent share in exports of the country which could be further increased if government provided electricity and gas at cheaper rates like in other countries in the region.
