LAHORE: Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Saturday claimed that Pakistan People's Party would not accept those decisions of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) which could harm democracy.

While addressing a press conference at Railways Headquarter here, Rashid said that people of Pakistan were standing with Pak Army and they pay tribute to the sacrifices rendered by them for the integrity of the country. He said the Chief of Army Staff did well by making a phone call to Bilawal Bhutto.

When asked, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan and his team would overcome the problem of price hike soon and people would get relief. He further said that real problem of the people is skyrocketing price which would be solved with better management of the rulers.

Sheikh said that in politics doors of dialogue could not be closed, adding that the incumbent government would complete its constitutional tenure.

Responding to a question, he said, a politician is always ready for elections, adding that the present government was trying its best to bring Nawaz Sharif back.

He prayed for the success of public gathering in Quetta and showed apprehension about terrorism attack.

He said the rail car which was being revived runs between Lahore to Rawalpindi and Rawalpindi to Lahore at 4:30 pm and coaches were being prepared in this regard as the numbers of passengers on this route was increasing.

He further said that eight more trains will be privatized from November 12, besides revival of rail car running between Lahore-Rawalpindi from November 30.

The Minister said private parties should come forward and run their freight trains business using the railway's infrastructure and properties.

He further said that online booking of freight trains had been started to stop irregularities in this regard. Sheikh Rashid said that railways had given four freight trains to the private sector under public private partnership.
