KARACHI: On Monday, after market closing, Pakistan Rupee continued on to its upward trend from last week by gaining value against USD in both interbank and open markets. It also went up against Euro, AED and SR in open market.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee gained 40 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over last week's rates closing at 161 and 161.10 respectively.
OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 50 paisas for buying and 60 paisas for selling over last week's rates closing at 161 and 161.20 respectively.
Against Euro, PKR gained 2 rupees for buying and one rupee for selling closing at 188 and 190.50 respectively.
Against UAE Dirham, PKR gained 35 paisas for buying and 20 paisas for selling closing at 43.85 and 44.20 respectively.
Against Saudi Riyal, PKR gained 5 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 42.65 and 42.85 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee appreciated its worth versus major currencies including the greenback and the British pound in the open currency market on Monday.
Due to lack of buyers' interest in the market, the greenback remained under selling pressure throughout the trading session and ended lower for buying and selling at Rs 161.00 and Rs 162.30 against the previous closing rate of Rs 161.50 and Rs 162.50 respectively, local currency dealers said.
Likewise, the local currency also followed suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 208.40 and Rs 209.90 against the last Friday's closing trend of Rs 209.50 and Rs 211.20 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: ISLAMABAD The rupee gained 50 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.
The dollar opened at Rs161.50 (buying) and Rs161.60 (selling) against last rate of Rs162 (buying) and Rs 162.10(selling).
It closed at Rs161.50 (buying) and Rs161.60 (selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 115,300(selling) and Rs115,100(buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
