(Karachi) An accountability court in Lahore has declared former prime minister Nawaz Sharif a proclaimed offender and issued non-bailable warrants against him in illegal land allotment case, media reported on Tuesday. The court also ordered the authorities to seize property of the PM L-N founder.

As per details, the verdict was issued by Accountability Court Judge Asad Ali. The court also instructed the National Accountability Bureau and revenue department to submit a report on the foreclosure of the property at the next hearing.

The hearing of the case has been adjourned till November 26.

On October 15, the accountability court gave former PM Nawaz Sharif one month to appear before it in a case on the illegal allotment of plots. The court also ordered to post advertisements for the summoning of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif in the said case.

The NAB in its reference alleged that Jang group CEO Shakilur Rehman illegally obtained 54 plots, each measuring one kanal, situated in Block-H, Johar Town.

According to NAB, the land was allotted in connivance with then Punjab chief minister Nawaz Sharif against the exemption policy and the laws for monetary gains. It stated the suspects caused a loss of Rs143.53 million to the national exchequer through allotment of the land in violation of exemption policy.
